Don't Forget to File the Make Ahead Recipes for Next Year

It's a wonderful feeling to use recipes for Thanksgiving that can be made ahead of time. From my 'make ahead gravy' to the 'make ahead mashed potatoes', chopping the veggies for the stuffing and making the pies... it leaves time to do other things. Now, whether you fill that time paying bills, looking up term life insurance quotes, reading a book or shopping, that's up to you. But the feeling of having many of the foods for tomorrow's big Thanksgiving meal half prepared is a good one.

Our household went to the mall and Best Buy and then dropped my 18 year off at a hair appointment while my visiting FIL and my younger daughter and I hung out at Caribou Coffee for about an hour and half. Yes... I sipped a caramel and whipped cream infused coffee and chatted instead of being home slaving over recipes.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to bookmark or file the 'make ahead' recipes for next year. Warming at the last minute sure beats the hectic havoc the kitchen can be.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!!
