2018's A Cookie A Day Until Christmas Recipe List

REPOSTING in 2020

An American Housewife (HousewifeBarbie.com) has been around since about 2006 - although it was around much longer just under my personal blog(s) since about 1998 and without a name or a .com.  Many of my Christmas cookie recipes are here online and many have been posted numerous times in the past 13 years.

They can be found through links on the right hand sidebar with search labels like Christmas or Cookies or you can do a search through the search engine on site as well.

If you are new around here or don't know me in real life, I bake 1000+ items each holiday season.  Yes, literally.  I average about 22-26 different recipes - some are so popular I have to make double and triple batches. This is all for personal use!  It's for our family holiday get-togethers, some friends and family platters to gift and also, the big one; my husbands job, which we bake goodies to share with about 100 people.

This year, I'm about 2 weeks behind getting starting on my baking (for various reasons) but yesterday I got started and although I had good intentions of getting an early start again this morning on the molasses cookies (a quadruple batch... oh my!) I woke with a wicked headache and I'm treating it with some hot caffeine now before I get started.

Every year I make a rough 'list' of the cookies and treats I'm making that year, drop a few, change up a couple and I add a few new recipes as well.  The ingredient shopping trip is a big one; it typically runs about $400-$550 depending on what I already have on hand.  Even though we are sugar free and generally lower-carb throughout the year, I obviously bake traditionally at Christmas so I 'deck the halls with bags of flour and sugar' fa la la la la!

Here are some images of random items I've made in the past (all the recipes are available on An American Housewife).
