- which I hadn't even known existed. Since then, I've used it almost every day and at least 2-3 times a week so this morning as I logged into my site I decided to post something other than a recipe. I decided to tell you about this machine that has a permanent place on my kitchen counter. (This is not a sponsored post or review, it's just me telling you about something I really do own and use.)
I will put the product description below for anyone who likes to read the fluffy version. This part is going to be me talking. At first I was intimidated! I make good coffee drinks using my blender and leftover brewed coffee, but this was a machine that brews your espresso shot and blends your iced drink all in one push of a button.
You place about 1/2 cup of water in the top, use a small 4 inch coffee filter and fill with your coffee grounds. Shut the top. In the blender portion you place your milk (liquid), ice up to the line, sweeteners or flavorings you wish to use and then you place the top on, click it into place on the base and push a button.
The green button lights up and the coffee in the top half starts to brew, hot and fresh.

When the green light starts to flash (about a minute later) it is warning you it's about to start blending. It does all it's own blending - pulsing to let the ice settle for a second or two and then pulsing again. After a few pulses the green light goes out and you are ready to remove the blender and pour your drink into 2 (or 3) serving glasses.
They give you a book of recipes with the frappe maker, but I only used it and measured ingredients the first time I made it. After that it became a 'trial and error' to find my own favorite drink. I like to use sugar free vanilla or peppermint flavor, with almond milk, a dash of half and half and I top it off with a swirl of whipped cream and a thick straw.
I also found one of my favorite drinks is a peppermint 'smoothie' without coffee. I skip the brewing step and add the ingredients (peppermint, vanilla, ice, almond milk and half and half and some splenda) to the blender portion and use the blend button to pulse and mix my drink myself. It's amazing at crushing the ice smooth. This drink (with whipped cream and sprinkles) is a favorite of my daughter's as well as she doesn't like the taste of coffee in her drinks and prefers a plain vanilla frappe or plain peppermint.
