This is another 'not really a recipe' but more of an idea. This is the snack mix I threw together for my husband one morning as he was leaving for work. I'm not a fan of vanilla greek yogurt, but these freeze dried versions of it are really delicious when ate with other freeze dried fruits like strawberries, apples and pineapple. You can actually through together almost any freeze dried foods you have on hand - but these are what I had in the pantry that morning.
Freeze Dried Snack Mixes
Vanilla Yogurt Bites or
Freeze Dried Strawberries, pineapple, raspberries, blueberries, apples, etc.
Mix and place in ziplock style baggies, a mason jar, food vacuum seal or into small snack containers.
2022 Updates:
This post is from September 2017 when it was really easy to find freeze dried yogurt bites for adults, freeze dried coconut milk bites, etc. After shortages hit our shelves during 2020+ things got a bit more difficult to find. In 2021 it was difficult to buy many freeze dried foods at all (they were all selling out immediately due to shortages) and the price was sky high if you could find them. However, I haven't seen the yogurt bites for adults come back yet, but there are a lot of options when you search for them in the 'baby and toddler' snacks; which is the same thing and YES they are a great addition to your snack mix. Freeze dried yogurt is just marketed towards the 'littles' right now instead of adults.
As of summer of 2022 most freeze dried foods are back in stock and fairly affordable again. The previous links on this original 2017 were no longer available so I've updated them to items available as of this post.
