Traditional Buckeyes (Peanut Butter Balls)
1 1/2 c peanut butter
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1 t. vanilla
1 lb. powdered (confectioner's) sugar
1/4 cake or stick paraffin wax
1 package chocolate chips
Mix the peanut butter, butter, vanilla and powdered sugar. Start with just 3/4 of the powdered sugar and add the last of it only if needed. Mix until it's dough-like and not sticky. Chill in refrigerator while you melt the chocolate chips and paraffin wax together over low on the stovetop or in the microwave. Dip the peanut butter balls 3/4 of the way into the melted chocolate with a toothpick. You only dip 3/4 so they resemble buckeyes.
