Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Leaves

Earlier this week I posted simplified instructions on how to make quick and easy chocolate leaves. Now it's time to show you the delicious desserts I used them on.  Feast your eyes on the chocolate and whipped frosting that came together perfectly to make itty bitty chocolate cupcakes, each with a tiny chocolate leaf.

Since I've have almost no time at all to even be home much less cook or bake as I wish, I readily admit today's feature started with a cake mix. The chocolate cupcakes from a mix that had the words 'triple' 'chocolate' and 'dark' in it, and the frosting is one I've featured on my site previously. Any frosting recipe will do as it's really the chocolate leaf that sets this dessert out from the rest.

I used:

Baked and cooled mini chocolate cupcakes
White frosting
Frosting tip and bag or a ziplock baggy
chocolate leaves

Frost the cupcakes and gently insert one or two small leaves on top of each cupcake. Serve immediately or keep in a cool area until ready to serve so the chocolate leaves don't melt. Serve!Print Friendly and PDF
