Because I make 2-3 large pizza's every Saturday evening (and have for over 11 years since I started the 'family movie night' tradition in our home then) I have made more pizza's than I can quickly count. Although pepperoni and green olive is a weekly favorite for one of them, I've made every kind you can think of over the years. One of my oldest daughters favorites is when I turn one of the pizza's into cheesy garlic bread.
You really don't need a 'recipe' for this one - just add or delete what you like and use what you have on hand - (the need for cheese and garlic is obvious) but the rest? Do what you like!
Starting with the typical pizza dough crust top it by spreading on a thin layer of
Real Butter
Followed by a light drizzle of
Olive Oil
Top with a sprinkle of
Fresh Garlic cloves, pressed or minced
(heavily or light depending on how much your family loves garlic)
Add
Grated Mozzarella, Parmesan and Asiago or Romano Cheeses (any mixture of cheeses works great!)
Sprinkle with
Garlic Powder
Garlic Salt
(this really brings out the flavor. Not a heavy dose! Just a light sprinkle of about 1/4 - 1/2 t per large pizza, each. This enhances the fresh garlic flavor.)
Sprinkle with dry or fresh chopped parsley
perhaps a little dried Oregano
maybe even a little Onion Powder
Bake at 400 degrees for about 18 minutes. Using a pizza cutter, slice across and then into 'sticks' and serve with melted butter flavored with garlic or with pizza sauce to dip.
