Egg Yolk Pie Crust

Here is another Amish recipe from my little cookbook that I currently adore. I haven't made this one yet and it's not at all like the current pie crust recipe I use, but I'm willing to give it a try as I think Amish cooks are some of the best there are.

Egg Yolk Pie Crust

5 c flour
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
4 t sugar

Sift. Add 1 1/2 c shortening. Break 2 egg yolks into a dish and stir well. Fill the cup scant full of water. Mix with the flour to blend.Print Friendly and PDF
